Tokyo Travelogue Day 2: Asakusa, Ueno, Ropponggi Hills
*Image Heavy Post Ahead*
Finally got down to Day 2!
Started Day 2 by hopping down to Asakusa, one of the most recommended destinations! It was also on this day, i found out how expandable my tummy was!
First food stop which was handled by 3 pretty ladies! So many tourists were like buying it i had to go check it out!
Peanut Mochi with Ice Green Tea! Super good for tea break!
With that much peanut dusting on it. I couldnt breathe when eating it cause when I breath out all the peanut powder will get on to me! Pretty funny sight cause you see people everywhere bending over and eating it.
It is never tooo early for ice cream cause everyone was queuing for soft serve!
Me on the other hand, got this instead!
Green tea ice cream with Azuki paste wrapped in pancake! Super shiok and I still miss the red bean paste =(
Super realistic fur animals! Love the pom poms!
The famous giant lanterns thats welcomes you into the Sensoji temple!
Crowds started at 10am. it was even worse when I left!
Spotted this counter where you can “Qiu Qian”, pray for lots.
Pentagon shaped box contains little sticks which has number characters on it and you go to the box which matches the characters on the stick and it will contain the “fortune reading”
Got No.1 lot and it was a pretty good one =)
Once you are done reading your lot, fold it up and tie it to this little frames which are placed just outside. Those two Japanese girls were really happy with theirs, so I think it must have been good!
Saw loads of people going to “scoop” the smoke all over their face and body for good luck. Being touristy, of course i did that too. LOL
Got some incense to pray for my family and friends =) They are really short unlike the ones in SIngapore which is at least 2 times the length.
Super cool incense burner =D
Before entering the temple, headed over to this fountain where you wash your hands which the water and some people even drank it!

Little boy who keep insisting his mom must wash his hands for him. He took it really seriously and it was mad adorable. Why JAPANESE KIDS SO CUTE!

Climbed up the steps to enter the temple and that security guard is super friendly and adorable!
People throwing coins into that vault and clapping their pams twice to pray.
Self shot when you are a solo tourist and feeling so awkaward all the time. Hur hur
Time for food again and I headed to this makeshift stall outside the temple!

Yummy fried noodles which are a tad too salty but still taste superb!

Walk a few steps and I came across this stall which I swear serves the best tako balls ever! Even though I was mega full, nothing can come in between me and my tako ball!

Soft and creamy, in the insde and cripsy one the outside, no wonder Singapore takopachi balls have to overcompensate by putting mayo on tako balls they serve. BECAUSE THEY NO MATCH JAPAN”S TAKO BALLS!

Yes, I shoved all 6 tako balls down my throat and I dun regret it at allll! 500 Yen = About SGD8 well spent!

Some not very nice battered red bean pastry. Mine was served cold =(

#forever alone shot

Adorable “Zhao Cai Mao” which I wanted to get but end up shrugging off the idea

Figures which are scatted around the place

Came across this long queue which apparently serves really good ramen and I had no time to queue for it. Total regret!

Rickshaw pullers which surprisly had loads of Japanese customers. I thought tourists would be more into this things!

Lady Rickshaw puller. Zai max! Love that cherub cheek Japanese little girl *pinch cheeks*

Bought these 2 and the one wrapped in seaweed is so yummy! The other one more expensive and not nice *ppffffffttttt*

Pachinko slot machines are everywehre

5th Story Pagoda which was nothing much honestly

Panda Macha which is super nice! Never saw this else where and I am so glad i grab a cup of it!

Shop keepers were giggling at me when i took this self shot. So paisei i didnt bother retaking it even though I look spastic

And… I ate again! OMG my tummy really had it good that day! Came across this little stall which loads of tables and stools are placed outside and there were so many Japanese eating there cause it was darn cheap, like 3 bucks for this bowl of ramen!

Stood at this counter and finished 1/2 bowl of ramen cause it was humongous! Dont be deceived by the photo, it was bigger than my face!

Bought traditional Japanese Rice Crackers which are so hard it could have chipped my teeth!

Fubu! This store even have the sign “Dangerous Goods placed on another window”
Didnt try it this time cause I was “chicken” and darn full!

Headed to Ueno and first stop Ueno Park

So many adorable old people leisurely walking around and taking in the scenery

Fat ass pigeon chasing around other and trying to mate with it. LOL

Makeshift stall selling beef

This dude cycled here with his instruments and started playing on the spot!

Vist one of the musemum and took photos even though I wasnt supposed to. Super paisei cause I didnt know and got stopped by a staff =P

Headed in search for Ameyoko street and this was where I met 2 Japanese men who “navigated” me to one of the best shopping places ever. It was such a long walk to that place but they insisted on guiding me there! SUPER NICE RIGHT!

Takeya Shopping Centre – Best place to buy Japanese Snacks and I was too conservative and bought too little stuff =(

Bought these snacks for the family:

Bought two pieces of clothes from this place at SGD12 per piece!

Love that nude dress =D

In Ueno, it is apparently known to sell dry goods and a market there. Fresh seafood anyone?

Bye bye Ueno!

Headed back to the hotel and waited for my travel buddy Kaiyi! We immediately headed out for dinner at Roppongi the moment she dumped her bag in the hotel!

Picked a random restaurant, point at menu and got these goodness:

Headed up to Roppogi City View and added a Aquarium Tour which was just a couple more bucks to look at pretty fishies!

We were questioning the authencity of that starfish cause how can it be so orange!

Cool lab like place which jellyfishes in open cover tanks. You can just put your hand in a touch it!

And there it is, the beautiful Tokyo Tower lighting up the city with its warm glow.

Kaiyi was in all types of awkward position trying to snap pictures.

After taking in the view, we headed to search for the famed Roppongi Hills to walk around and we saw so many little pubs like the one below which looks so cozy!
Japan’s Bookshops always look so welcoming and they are everywhere with cafes! Wish we have them like that in Singapore

Walked a full circle and found that the streets we were walking on was Roppongi Hills and it was closed! Super ZZzzz.. So it was back to the hotel for our tired feet to get some warm food bath =D
