Phuket Travelogue Day 1: Weekend Night Market & Jungceylon

Boyfriend and I itching for a getaway together so we decided to have a short and relaxing 3D3N holiday in Phuket =)

Hopped onto a 7am flight out of Singapore and we had Mr. Mark from Mr. Mark tours picking us up from the airport. Headed towards to his agency and booked our tours for the rest of the days in Phuket.

Was too early for check in and we went exploring around the Patong Beach area looking for a place to settle our rumbling tummies!

Came across this place called No.6 restaurant and it is one of the best finds in Phuket. The food is not just great, it comes at cheap prices too! Dont be too surprise to see that it is packed during mealtimes!

Ordered Thai Ice Tea which is oh so refreshing from the hot hot weather in Phuket!

Photobucket

Phad Thai which was insanely good!
Photobucket

Tom Yam Soup – (Nakhon definitely wins hands down)
Photobucket

Fried Bee Hoon which had the “wor-hei” smell and loaded with so much ingredients!
Photobucket

Garlic squid is which super fragrant and juicy!
Photobucket

Walked around the Patong beach area to look at the little commercialised stalls there which sells everything that is sold in the stall next door, when we came across a roadside pancake stall.

After rows and rows of shops, we headed to the Jungceylon (Jang – See – Long) shopping centre and came across this cheap, unsleazy and good massage place!

Photobucket

This lady is Da Bomb, had my first Thai massage by her and she cracked every singe joint in my body without any pain at all! I felt so relaxed after the massage la!
Photobucket

Boyfriend got convinced to do his first ever massage, a foot massage. Like that then can prevent him from roaming around Phuket squeezing tranny’s and prostitute neh nehs and butts =P

The lady also gave him a good back and shoulder massage too!

Headed back to the hotel to check in and it is a pretty nice place (too bad no free wifi). If no wifi bothers you, you can check out “Birdcage” hotel which was located about 50m away and it looks like a pretty decent hotel with quite cheap rates too!

Located at Patong town, it is a small little inroad 5 mins away from the noisy Bangla street but near to all the good shops, stores and 10 minutes walk to JungCeylon Shopping Centre. Definitely a place I would recommend!

Big beds, white sheets and clean room all ready for us!
Photobucket

Washed up and we were driven to the night market at Phuket Town (30-45mins drive from Patong Beach)! These are just some of the pictures of the food we saw and ate there! So crowded and busy, there isnt much room and place for us to take photos all the time.

Horrible stall owner (in Fake Ralph Lauren Top) cheat us THB40! Quoted us THB80 for a BBQ sotong when everywhere else was THB 40!

Takoyaki with vegetable filling

Quail Eggs
Photobucket

Crispy Pancake with Marshmellow-y filling and coconut toppings!
Photobucket

Pastries! Got a cake here and we left it in the fridge and forgot to eat it.
Photobucket

Fried Grasshoppers anyone?
Photobucket

Buying Fried pork with Glutinous Rice
Photobucket

Everyone going to Phuket should try this! The pork is so fragant and matched with the fried onion and the glutinous rice, it enhances the taste of the crispy pork even more!

Photobucket

I strongly recommend all purchases in Phuket town to be at the weekend night market as it is visited by locals and thus the prices are really really cheap!

Photobucket

Leather structure Beige Bag – SGD 13
Fake Havianas Slippers – SGD 8
Wired and Structured Bikini – SGD 15

Cheap or what! These are items which could have cost 1.5 – 2X more back home!

Shopped till 10.30pm before we got picked up by Mr. Mark’s Daughter who brought us on a roundabout tour to witness the crazy nightlife in Phuket before dropping us at the hotel to prepare for our very packed 2nd day.

More soon on Day 2 and 3!
